I wish J M W Turner had still been around to give me a few hints
on recreating fast-flowing water when I came to model this vignette!

 Note the typical, almost paintless 50's wooden 
 coal wagons.  Replaced by the steel 
 16 tonner they were all gone by the 60's!  Back to photo 5  What's this?  What's through here?  next!

There was a bridge much like this one on the branch to Marthwaite (sorry, Hawes).  It even had the wall-edged lane creeping under one arch!  There was a pub too, called "The Gearstones" beside another S&C railway bridge so even though this scene is imaginary there will be something familiar about it to those who know the line well.
