Why would I want a model railway?

No doubt there are many personal reasons for wanting a model railway; these are the most common our past customers have quoted. . .

• I am fascinated by the "such & such" railway and, since I cannot recreate the real thing, I want a model of it so it can live again, at least in miniature!
• I want to recreate the trains I remember from my childhood.
• I want to recreate my local station as it was in nineteen nought blob.
• I want a railway room to go and relax in.
• I want a railway room to entertain friends and family.

Funnily enough, we have seldom been asked, "Can you build me a train set for my son?", but several times we have had customers ask, "I've always wanted a train set and now I can afford one - what do you suggest?"
