A model Gas Works!

railwaysAfter some 18 months of research we have recently completed this commission for a model gas works.  In doing so we have enjoyed the help of numerous kind modellers who have already studied both the details of these works and the railway traffic they generated.  Without their help the model could not have been made and to them our grateful thanks are hereby recorded.  Thank you, Gentlemen.

railwaysWhy did our customer want a gas works?  Firstly because nothing is more redolent of the "back" end of town than a gas works, secondly because it provides an interesting and significant amount of traffic for his railway but mainly because it is an interesting and to date pretty unusual addition to any model railway.  (We believe the total number of complete gas works ever modelled on railways in any scale to still be in single figures!)
